Getting into a State of Being

Yesterday I stated that if you want to create an outcome you should first get into that state and then work out how to maintain that state.

I received an e-mail from one of my readers asking: “how do I create a state if I am not feeling that way?”

The first part of the answer is that whatever you are feeling right now is a feeling that you created. You create your own feelings by the way that you react to whatever is going on in your environment. You always have a choice about how you want to feel.

However, if something is happening that is causing you to feel nervous and you want to feel calm you have to first decide that you want to feel calm.

Just taking the decision that you are not going to allow your feelings to run away with you and that you want to feel calm will have an immediate effect.

After you have decided that you want to feel calm you could then cast your mind back to a situation where you did feel calm and recall what you were doing to maintain that feeling of calm.

With practice you can make yourself feel any way that you want to feel in any circumstance.
