How much do you read?
Is it important that you read?
I ask these questions because I was browsing around on the Leadership Now blog this morning and I noticed an article headed Build Your Leadership Library.
They have 180 titles, all with at least a 40% reduction.
I hasten to add that we do not make a penny on any of these books should you choose to buy.
Why Reading is Important for Leaders
We live in a world of constant change and transformation. This is happening and an ever-accelerating rate. In order to keep up, never mind stay ahead, of the pack we need constant education.
Reading and listening to audiotapes are the easiest ways of keeping ourselves in the game.
Courses are good if you’ve got the time and appropriate programmes are available in your area.
I, of course, would recommend coaching. But then some might say I am biased in favour of leadership coaching.

Regarding great leadership books, I am enjoying “Becoming a Coaching Leader” by Daniel Harkavy. It not only helps integrate coaching principles into leading others, it also encourages a kind of self-coaching as one thinks through his or her own life plan. It was published by Thomas Nelson in 2007. Not “old news” yet!
Thanks Ken for adding to the list of useful materials.
As a fellow coach you might also find useful:”The Art and Practice of Leadership Coaching.”
