Leadership 4 – Optimism

Bright Optimism

Optimistic leaders have an extra energy about them. They tend to walk more purposefully and speak with greater emphasis. As a result they stir up enthusiasm as they move through the world.

Optimism has a positive quality about it that ensures that optimistic leaders are always moving forward towards bright, shiny goals. There is an enthusiasm about the way that optimistic people speak about the future that shows that they have the belief that what they are aiming for will come about.

All leaders should, in my opinion live with the words of Jack Layton:

“My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.”
